Katie Woznicki as a Baby of the Underground
I started going to shows when I was only 16 or 17 years old in my home town of Cleveland, Ohio and quickly discovered a magical and visionary world of local and touring underground bands. I finally met other weirdos and outsiders like myself, so close to home. It was there that I met Sean Carnage, another kindred spirit and life-long soldier of underground art and culture. He has an amazing blog that documents his adventures, including a section about Cleveland shows and, of course, the legendary and tragically closed club Speak in Tongues.

Although Katie Woznicki is mostly known as singer-songwriter Dodola and an intuitive outsider artist, sometimes she has the privilege of hosting as an MC, which is a call-back to her days as Kopy Kat. ART BRUT MURAL in Special School Mara Mandić in Pančevo
Katie Woznicki’s art-brut mural in the courtyard of Mara Mandić school in Pančevo, Serbia was created with the help of the children. Intuitive art is a healing modality for both people with special needs and for those with mental health concerns. The process unfolded over a few months and the result is a layered artifact of labor and love.
